    Buggy software...

I've been having some trouble lately on MTurk. Most of the time, when I go to view a hit, I open it in a new tab, and the button for "Accept this Hit" is not there. I have to refresh the tab a few times before it shows up. I'm cheesed off because all that refreshing just cost me a good transcription hit. By the time I got the stupid button to show up and tried to accept it, there were no more in that group, and there was only one there to begin with. Gah!!

I'm using Chrome, and that seems to work for most everything, except the odd Pyc hit that I do here and there. Has anyone else seen this before? Any advice on how to fix it?

    TIA

Hey there, I'm pretty new to Turk but I've encountered a similar situation, although it only stalls for maybe up to 30 seconds for me. It could be your connection speed, I 'borrow' wifi (no password, yay!) from a neighbor so my speed is fairly slow and I assume that that is the issue...No idea if that's true, but could be a contributor! =)

That's the weird part. I'm on cable. I use my router as a WiFi hotspot, but my PC is hardwired to it. My internet is usually pretty fast. I used to share my WiFi where I used to live. Like, if I had a neighbor that wanted WiFi, I'd give them a password as long as they'd pay for part of it. At that place, the only options for internet were to either buy your own, split with me, or use the house WiFi that's slower than molasses for free. Even with 2 or 3 others on my net, I still didn't have this trouble. I've got a 3.5 Ghz machine, and I very rarely run into internet speed issues. If it seems slow, I just reset my router and/or the modem, and it picks up again. I'm thinking it's Chrome, but I'm not sure. It could also be something weird with MTurk.

If your neighbor has his WiFi unsecured, maybe there's some other people using it too, and that might be why it's slow. But, it's hard to complain when you're getting something for free.

Hmm, I use Chrome the majority of my Turking time, so that could definitely be the issue.

As for my internet, I'm certainly not complaining! haha =D
