    Favorite non-monetary rewards to Mturk

What are some of your favorite things, other than the money, about turkin? Mine is fitting it into my schedule. I have three kids, and the youngest is only in kindergarten. I can work when it works for me, and if I can't "get to work" there is no boss to call, no calling someone to cover my shift. All I lose is the money I would have made.

I like setting and achieving goals. Working inside of boundaries makes me feel secure. I really think Turking helps me mentally because I can clearly see whether I have achieved my goals or not.
    Looking for something?

    Great idea for a thread!

I also like the flexibility and working independently from home. It's also a really positive distraction for me if I am particularly stressed or anxious. Editing a few articles or writing some random topic always challenges my brain to focus on things other than my troubles. Not having to call in sick is nice, too. If any of us are sick we can just take a break if we need to.

Also, it's cool knowing if I need to make an extra payment or a bill pops up, all I have to do is set my daily goal on MTurk to be higher and achieve it.

I dunno if the forum counts, as it isn't part of MTurk, but it's one of the things I like most about my Turking life - you folks here at the forum.

Not having to deal with a jerk boss or annoying people in general. If I don't like the way a requester operates, I don't work for them. The flexibility is great too.

My favorite things about working from home are not having to commute, deal with bad weather, or pay for gas.

I enjoy the mental excercise that it gives me. I also enjoy the connection I feel with others.

I enjoy the sense of independence that working on mturk gives me, and the self-respect that comes from finally working again is worth just as much to me as the money I make I love being exposed to new things and ideas that are outside of my day-to-day world.

I enjoy mturk because I can do it when ever I have the time, and I get to spend more time with my family and friends. If I want to take the day off and only work at 3AM then I can. In the summer time I can work in the garden and then take a break inside and turk a bit. If I did take a job out side of the home it would have to be part time, very flexible, great pay and very close to my home. And then I still might not take it because I like being my own boss.

I also like trying different jobs. With a regular job, you are stuck doing the same thing day in and day out. Great thread!!

What everyone else has mentioned AND this forum for bringing us together. I am able to communicate with others who have a connection through turking and can relate to the highs and lows we experience doing this.

I like that I don't have to wait a 1 week/2 weeks to get paid. The ability to pick and chose the work you can do and if you decide to stop working on whatever it is, then you do it with no explanation to anyone.

I can do whatever I want while I'm turking(eat, listen to music, watch tv), no dress code, and I can talk sh!t about requesters I work for and not worry about some brown noser going back and reporting me.
There's a hundred-thousand streets in this city. You don't need to know the route. You give me a time and a place, I give you a five minute window. Anything happens in that five minutes and I'm yours. No matter what. Anything happens a minute either side of that and you're on your own. Do you understand?

Hehehe, I like turkin from the toilet I love turking for every single reason you guys brought up. I like that when I get frustrated or timed I just get up and do what ever I like. My boyfriend spent all weekend whining about his boss at work and saying he didn't want to be there and then when he was over on the weekend said to me"why are you doing that honey, you're not making much money' THIS is why.
