Exclamation #mTurk is NOT a representative population when it comes to health status and behaviours (so stop using it for your studies!)

MTurk workers are not a generalizable population with regards to health status and behaviors; deviations did not follow a trend. Appropriate health-related uses for MTurk and ways to improve upon the generalizability of MTurk health studies are proposed.

Interesting. It makes sense, really. If you take 1000 random people from the population, you might not find even 1 Turker. You'd find few people who work at home. So it seems logical that Turkers would not be a random sample of the population. Most turkers have a reason for working from home and it's often health related.
