    [New Requester] How much to pay for each HIT?

    Hello everyone,

    I'm a new requester. I need some help on figuring out what's an acceptable wage for a a HIT that takes about 1 min that requires Master qualification?

    Hi nopotato. $0.20-$0.25 would be a fair wage.

    I would like to mention that using the masters qualification severely limits your potential worker pool, and you pay a premium fee to Amazon for using it. You can get the same quality results by using qualifications of "Total Approved HITs is not less than 10,000" and "HIT Approval Rating is not less than 99%".

    Good luck with your project!

    Hmm... I recently received this review. I'm confused because I always thought my pay is pretty decent especially after you get more used to the task..I hope there's a way for me to contact this person and ask him what he's thinking.

    FAST: NO DATA
    PAY: 1 / 5
    COMM: NO DATA
    HIT(s):
    Write sentences that describe Images (WARNING: This HIT may contain adult content. Worker discretion is advised.)

    Underpaid writing junk, pays WAY BELOW acceptable market rates. Stuff like this pays MANY TIMES this rate elsewhere.

    Cheap requester, avoid!

    You do pay a very fair rate. This reviewer is not in touch with reality. Looking at their post history confirms that. https://turkopticon.ucsd.edu/by/40335

    I wouldn't worry about the 2 poor reviews. Here is what workers see when they look at your HITs:

    It is the "fairness" rating that hold the most weight. Workers want to know if you tend to reject submissions.

    If you are concerned about your rating, you could try this: Identify the workers who have submitted the most HITs for you. Send them a message and ask if they would be willing to give you an honest review on Turkopticon (do NOT ask them to leave you a POSITIVE review - ask for an honest review.)
