    Vivaldi web browser

Collection of bookmarks to discussion of Vivaldi web browser within TurkerNation's "Daily mTurk HIT Threads."

Big Thank You to the members of the forum that brought this browser to my attention. Love you guys.

I apologize for the hasty thrown-together nature of this post. I saw these discussions in the daily HIT thread, and worry that the installation and feature info will be difficult to search for. (Sometimes it's difficult to find old discussions from older daily Hit threads.)

I'm installing this Vivaldi web browser now.

"Vivaldi is compatible with chrome extensions. Just visit the Tampermonkey site (while using Vivaldi) and install the latest Chrome version and it should work."

"It uses all the same chrome scripts. I just opened tampermonkey in chrome and clicked the link for each script. Pasted that into Vivaldi and install from there. I just caught that $6 hit so maybe it helps grabbing hits too. Hit Scraper or TM has not stopped yet. Hopefully that keeps up. I have to restart scraper or pandas often in chrome."

    • "[Tampermonkey] This one. 4.0.25

I also exported from TM in Chrome and imported into Vivaldi TM so I could have all my pandas. Also exported CSV from chrome DB into DB in Vivaldi and updated."

"You need to click on the export CSV box checkbox in Chrome DB then click on Export CSV. Then in Vivaldi click on import and select that same file. After it imports, click on update database. Turn off scraper and all your pandas first. It will take about 5 minutes maybe."

"You can also view two or more page at once in Vivaldi using the tab tiling feature. You can display stacked tabs or single tabs you select side by side or in a grid layout. For example, you could tile a stack of tabs by right-clicking on the tab stack and selecting ?Tile Tab Stack? from the popup menu."

"Go into the settings > Tabs
In the top right is "new tab position" and you want something other than "always last" I'm not entirely sure the difference between "next to tab" and "next to related tabs" but I haven't poked much, at any rate my new tabs don't open at the end but to the right of the thing I'm on.

I def like the cutomization, I used to adore Opera until it went blerg. I just can't do my usual setup without being able to drag tabs between windows. I'll probably use it for my derping around though, and currently have it set as 1/4 windows for running my dash and chat, since that window is one I keep relatively stable anyway, and running PandAs off a different browser is rarely a terrible idea."

"I had to flatten my computer and start again from factory the other day and because I had been having so much trouble with Chrome, I decided to try Opera. It's tampermonkey friendly and so far I love it! (I use FF for personal and always used Chrome for my work stuffs I do so now I use FF and Opera instead). It's super simple, not a lot of stupid bells and whistles, just everything you would want or need it for. Time will tell, but so far I am happy."

Anyone on Vivaldi who uses MTurk Database. Have you noticed that these are missing?

I just noticed on mine. I turned off every other script and it was still gone. Can't figure it out.

No, mine have always been there. Try updating your DB maybe and see if that does anything.

I sometimes find Vivaldi a bit laggy, but it's better today.
