How to Contact a Requester - 6 Methods

    How to contact a requester

Method 1: You have completed a HIT for them within the last 45 days (Mturk Dashboard)
    1. Navigate to the requester in your dashboard. Click on their name.

    2. This will open a message window and you can send your message.

Method 2: You can find a live HIT for them, and you are qualified for the HIT.
    1. Find the HIT on mturk. Click on the title of the HIT.

    2. You will see a link to contact the requester.

Method 3: You have worked for them before, and they are in your HIT Database.
    1. Search or browse for the name of the requester.

    2. When the list comes up below, click on the name of the requester.

You will get a contact form for that requester
    3.

Method 4: Requester has active HITs, but you are not qualified.
    1. Install ?Mturk Unqualified Contact? script from Greasy Fork. This will add a ?Contact the Requester of this HIT? to your HIT capsule. Follow steps from Method 2.

Method 5: Requester has active HITs but you are not qualified.
    1. Open a new browser tab. Paste this link into the address bar:

    https://www.mturk.com/mturk/contact?...T&requesterId=

    2. In a different tab, click on the name of the requester.
    ``

    3. Look at the URL in the address bar. The very end will be the Requester ID. Copy that.

    4. Paste the Requester ID onto the end of the URL you pasted in step one:

    5. PRESS ENTER TO BROWSE TO THE NEW URL YOU HAVE JUST CREATED. IF YOU DO NOT PRESS ENTER NOW, BEFORE CREATING YOUR MESSAGE, IT WILL NOT SEND.

    6. Create your message and submit!

Method 6: The requester has no active HITs, and you have never worked for them.

    1. Follow the same steps as Method 4, but you have find the Requester ID another way.
How can you find the Requester ID?
    i) Try Turkopticon:

ii) Try searching the ?Daily HITs? threads on one of the worker forums:

iii) Ask somebody on a forum or IRC room.

    Additional Information.

    1. Once you message a requester, they will have your email address.

    2. I like to put the requester name in the subject line when sending a message, makes it easy to keep track of who they are when they respond.

    3. When a requester changes their name, their Requester ID stays the same.
Eschew obfuscation, espouse elucidation. Batch HITs for newbs. 1000 req'd. 5000 req'd.
