Turkopticon is down: many scripts will fail

As of 9pm Pacific (Amazon) time, Turkopticon effectively has been down for nearly five hours.

Here is what I currently get at turkopticon.ucsd.edu:

Those canned suggestions aren't helping at the moment. [Turkopticon-Discuss has been down for a week].

If you use an extension version of Turkopticon, you may get weird JSON errors. If so, you must disable the TO extension to use MTurk.

Until this is resolved, disabling the TO script certainly won't hurt performance.
(Since the website is down, the TO script doesn't work either; but it does not encounter the JSON errors, and doesn't interfere with scripts like Turkmaster).

Tjololo's HIT scraper can work (with diminished capacity) by checking the box that says "Disable TO."

TO is back up c. 10:50 pm (Pacific) Friday 7/17.

edit: SIx Silberman reports that some log files got too big.
He knows how to make sure it won't happen again.

    Hi all,

It should be back up now.

I'm taking steps to try to prevent this specific outage cause from happening again.

    Best,

    six
