    How are non-tested qualifications granted?

    Hi-

I'm very new to this, and as I've been looking at the list of all HITS, if I see interesting looking ones that say I need to request qualification I've been doing so. Today I was looking at the qualifications of a particular HIT, and the "why" link showed this for one of the qualifications: "This HIT requires the ClassificationAccuracy Qualification with a value that is not less than 85. Your value is 80. The test associated with this qualification can not be re-taken."

So I looked at my qualifications from that requester and found my qualification value of 80. However, I don't think this was a tested qualification. I think I just requested it and it was silently granted. But where do they get that 80 value? All my HITs so far have been approved or are pending. Or is that a random number? Should I have not requested a qualification unless I really really wanted that particular HIT?

    Thanks!

The values of "80" and "85" are unimportant - requester whim really; it could have easily been "0" and "1" instead. Anyway, in this particular case, your score of "80" essentially lets you work on different set of qualifying Hits* which allow you to raise your score to the desired "85"

See Amazon requester category classification test

    * They haven't posted these Hits for ages upon ages, so any hope of raising your score to "85" is zero.

Thank you! I don't have access to that link you posted but your explanation makes sense.
