I'm hoping today someone can give me the magic fix...

I started using a laptop yesterday with Firefox 30.0, and the timer runs out almost immediately after I accept a HIT.

Should I switch to a lower version of Firefox? (And, if so, how do I do that??)

    THANK YOU !!

If you haven't done it already
    1. Log off MTurk
    2. In FireFox, go to History -> Clear Recent History -> Select everything -> Click Ok -> Close browser then try again and see what happens.

If Chrome is working--it looks to me that Firefox is problem. Did you try resetting Firefox ?

Thanks, bromeliad. That seems to have fixed the prob. And thanks to everyone who lends their support and concern during my times of technically-challenged crisis. It is truly, truly appreciated. And I mean that sincerely.

Hey, carolyn -- I got a touch screen, as you recommended a while back, and I LOVE IT! Now if I can just get used to this damn laptop keyboard...

Is it the chicklet style? I had one of those on my desktop, and never could get used to it. For some reason the space bar and "a" keys needed more pressure, I'd be typing normally and they just wouldn't show up. I bought a regular key wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse, much better. They make laptop stands so you can attach a regular keyboard, if you have a regular spot for turking you could look into that.

The other thing I do is turn off the touchpad. I'm always knocking into it with my thumbs when I am typing, makes the cursor move all over the place.

    THANK YOU.

My chrome timer has been stuck starting hits at 45 seconds for the last month and I didn't even think to clean it up. Now it is back to normal.
