    Question about adult content qual

I looked at a political survey today, that required the adult content qualification. When I clicked on the test, it said that, by getting the qual, I am agreeing that some hits may have adult content. I haven't seen any other hits (that I'm interested in, because I mostly do surveys) that want this, so I'm thinking I shouldn't bother to get it, should I? I'm really not interested in doing hits that have what most of us would deem adult content, plus, I'm often turking when my kid is in the room, so I don't want something inappropriate on the screen. Guess I answered my own question, huh?

There are lots of HITs I have done that require the adult content qual, but I've never seen any adult content in them, I would say that there is just a chance that something of mature content could be involved. I avoid porn HITs altogether, but it's good to have whatever qual you can get. So I would get it.

Here are some examples of some HITs I've seen that use the adult content qualification:

    1. Surveys that ask questions about morally apprehensive things like rape or drug use.
    2. HITs that require you to be 18 or over. (Just because they want to use that demographic)

You should always seek out quals, no matter if you think you will use them or not. You never know.

It's probably good advice to get the qual. I just wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into before I accept a hit. It sounds like you will know what it includes before you start it.

To go along with what was said above, some requesters will also throw an adult content qual up for something as little as potential bad language. I've seen this on stuff that harvests forum or social media comments where anyone can say anything. And to address your issue about nudity, I've never come across HITs that weren't clearly marked, so this qual would probably be a good idea for you to pick up.

Sorry if my message is wordy, but I haven't had any coffee today and feel like aliens abducted my brain.

I think the first time I got the adult content qual had to do with something on Linked In profiles....
Not sure, but it was something like that.

There definitely are non-porn HITs that require that qual, and it's very easy to get. No reason not to go ahead and get it. You're unlikely to regret it.

Most of the HITs that I have seen with actual adult content are photo moderation or video moderation hits. I don't think I've ever seen anything objectionable outside of those HITs, even when the adult content qual is required. I think in most of those cases, it's a case of CYA - someone might be posting adult content and passing it off as legit, but it is unlikely, so require the qual just in case. That has been the case for every "Moderate videos for adult content" HIT I have ever done.

This is helpful. It sound like some requesters use a qualification as an umbrella to cover all bases
