Thread: Amazon Payments problems discussion

  1. #11
I had trouble verifying a second bank account and I used the "contact us" form on the payments site. I was impatient and fixed it myself before I heard from them - but they did email me back less than 24 hours later. So I don't know how helpful they would have been, but they did respond to me fairly promptly. (though it wouldn't have seemed prompt if it had been a problem with my first account and I wanted money)

My first and only contact with them required 3 days for a reply, but at least they corrected the problem, so patience is probably a virtue in dealing with them.

Just to let everyone know, if you need to contact Amazon Payments for whatever reason, and you wish to speak to them via phone, you can navigate to the Help link on Amazon.com and have the normal customer service number call your phone. Amazon Payments doesn't have a direct phone number, but they can be reached by contacting their general customer service and asking for an Amazon Payments specialist, Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 4 pm PDT.

I found that contacting Amazon Payments over the phone helped tremendously. I'm so excited that my bank account is finally verified! So yeah, I recommend calling them over using the email message.

I deposited money into my account three days ago, but now my Amazon balance is no longer updating. My money on MTurk is in there and piling up, but it's not transferring to my Amazon balance.

I'm not sure if there's a time limit I have to wait after a withdrawal or what. I checked the FAQ and then contacted CS, and they haven't even answered me back now in two days.

I figured from the jump that I shouldn't leave money in there, so I was planning on draining my account every time my Amazon balanced filled up.

I'm assuming that I just have to wait since I'm still quite new and that it's not a glitch in the system or just the Seattle contingent trying to take my money to grease the union wheels up yonder. But it's really gettin' my goat that I'm staring money in the face and can't get it out.

Ah, I had to add a credit card. Now my money's coming through! Good thing too. Thanks in big part to Jonathan Leger, I had $1,130 just sitting in there rotting. I didn't know that I had to add a credit card to get "unlimited" status! I was freaking out and then some.

So I transferred some money from mTurk to my Amazon Gift Card this morning, and I went I went to Amazon to check my balance on the card (it should be close to $300 by now) it is suddenly showing up at $0. I have called Amazon, the customer service rep. had never heard of mTurk, she kept telling me "we don't have record of any gift card purchases by you". Eventually, she sent my issue over to mTurk.

Has anyone else had their gift card balance disappear, and how did you fix it?

I haven't transfered any extra over to my account since yesterday (but had about $20 in) it is now also showing up as $0

Just checked and mine is empty as well. There isn't even any data on my history so I assume they are having a bad glitch of some sort.
