I don't have any direct reccomendations per say, but get one with at least a 100gb+ hard drive. Last year I bought a netbook for pretty cheap that only had a 50gb hard drive. I could barely get it to do anything, even Facebook.
Hard drive limitations are actually not going to change your speed of processing- only what you can store... the only way the recommendation makes sense, is that netbooks with such a cheap hard drive will have a cheap everything else. However, you could get a good netbook with a tiny SSD and be very happy- you dont need to store much on a netbook!

That doesn't make much sense, because a Windows installation is only around 10GB and a browser is maybe 50MB or so...
