I saw an ad in the back of Texas Monthly for Canadadrugs.com - I found many mixed reviews but some were definitely put up by competitors.. I asked my doctor if they had sent any orders to any Canadian pharmacies and they had indeed - to that particular company. My husband is on a very expensive asthma med that is 270 retail, best deal I could find for the uninsured was $253 from WalMart... I just ordered a NINTY DAY SUPPLY from CD for $180, less the 25% off coupon code from the magazine, making it $138 (compared to over $750 for the same amount stateside).

HOLY CRAP! Anyway... Was wondering if anyone else knew about this or had tried it. From what I've read, AT THE MOMENT, it's legal as long as it's no more than a 90 day supply and not on the controlled substance list, and of course accompanied by a prescription.

Coupon code for 25% off is TXM1414, good through June 30

I get my allergy medication from a Canadian pharmacy. But the drugs come from a company called Cipla which is based in India. So far no problems.

I'm very hesitant with all of the counterfeits out there, especially for extremely popular prescriptions.

In addition to the Canadian pharmacies which require a prescription, there are several very reliable pharmacies (outside of North America) which are inexpensive and do not require a prescription. You do have to be careful though, as there are many shady ones out there (Don't even think about ordering from Mexico). One thing to remember is that a legitimate overseas pharmacy will not ship controlled substances as it is illegal to possess them (in the USA) without a prescription. As far as I know, possession of non-controlled prescription drugs without a script is not illegal (in the USA), It's just illegal to sell them to someone without a script (within the USA).

That's why I won't go to Mexico even though it's only a couple of hours away from me. This pharmacy is regulated by Canada and the IPS, I don't know if that makes a difference or not... I would have been too scared to try it if it weren't for the fact that there are people here who have received the right things repeatedly from this specific company. We'll see how it goes... I'm hoping that since it is an asthma medication with no qualities that can be used to get high or make other drugs that it will turn out alright.[COLOR="CadetBlue"]

FDA recently changed their rules, it appears that prescriptions MUST be shipped with a copy of a legitimate doctor order for all drugs in the prescription only category. It seems to be now illegal to ship controlled substances even WITH a legal prescription from overseas. Which is OK for us, but probably sucks for any pain or anxiety patients who may have been getting their meds this way.

i used to go to mexico a lot to get prescription medications. why do you think it is shady? do you think mexican pharmacies would be selling shitty drugs to mexicans? everything i bought was sealed in packages from the manufacturers, which were the same as in the U.S.

Depends on your source, if it is a company that has been used by people I know and trust I'm more likely to try them however I've read too many news stories regarding pharmacies selling counterfeit drugs in Mexico. This has occurred in Canada as well, but with less frequency due to different regulations. If I had a legal, known, reputable pharmacy in Mexico that I could order from I would give it a go but I'm not going to chance buying from a small mom and pop border pharmacy (nor, I suppose, would I chance buying from a Mom & pop Canadian pharmacy).

Because there are people working in slums making counterfeit pills out of whatever is at hand - that includes such things as AJAX (which contains caustic soda) or other toxic substances which are definitely dangerous to ingest. Pharma companies have safeguards against this in some instances, that is why it is important to know a good deal about what you are taking. This includes characteristic pill markings of the prescription that you are supposed to take...mixups from the pharmacy are rare but they can happen and the consequences could be fatal.
