We're not going to be posting that information publicly because bad users may just reach that level to access the good stuff

It allows me to sign up, but I tried creating a new post and nothing showed up. Anyone know if there is a time delay?

I had the same thing happen to me. What I did was log out and then I waited for several minuntes and then logged back in and I was able to post at that point.
It allows me to sign up, but I tried creating a new post and nothing showed up. Anyone know if there is a time delay?

When I registered, I received this message:

"An email has been dispatched to [my email address] with details on how to activate your account."

However, I have never yet received this email. User name is "ItsMyTurk" and I registered earlier this morning. Thanks! :)

I asked spamgirl for the option to select gender and she provided that option. http://turkernation.com/showthread.php?37-Suggestions-for-additions-to-this-forum/page2

For those of us who are having issues with the registration, with the "Gender field" popping up, what do we do?

Probably nothing for now. Spamgirl needs to make the gender field have a default value or allow no value. Until then, registrations are effectively closed.

Same here, no email yet. But if Spamgirl is approving everyone's account manually, I suppose it'll take a while :)

Just wondering, why have some people been able to register, yet others (like me) have not been able to due to the missing gender field?

Changes were made so gender could be specified on profiles, it somehow messed
up the registration process AFTER that change :(

I'm certain someone is/will be working on the issue soon,
staff must be swamped.

I too cannot sign up because of the missing gender field. I'm assuming its just a wrinkle that comes with starting a new message board.

I have the same problem with gender. Of course I could select a gender in my profile, but I would have to be a registered user to do that.

I didn't receive the e-mail, it isn't in my spam box either. I registered about an hour ago. Is there any way I can have it resent?

Yeah, I've seen been able to register, but still no e-mail; is there a "resend" option I'm missing somewhere?

I didn't get any email but had trouble registering here as my IP was blocked. Sent a PM to Spamgirl at the old forum and she sorted it out.

No confirmation email here, but it looks as if my account was activated anyway. (Thanks, Spamgirl!) :) My guess is that the server that spits out the activation emails is swamped with requests--so it'll either send them out late, or not at all.

Not only have I not received an activation e-mail after waiting for hours (yes, I checked my spam folder), when logged in I can't access a single page on this site. It just keeps telling I don't have access to literally anything, including such innocent areas as the FAQ and the main forum page. I have to log out just to be able to look at some of the pages as a guest. And I can't get the activation e-mail re-sent to me.

I've noticed some of you have your old info (ie number of posts) from the old forum under your user names here.

Can I sign up with a totally different user name here (didn't like my old user name), and then Spamgirl can move my old info (number of posts) over here to my new/different user name? Maybe that's possible if I PM her on the old forum to prove it's me. Not sure. I don't want to be a pain in the tush either, though!

PM her and ask politely. It never hurts to ask.... Looks like you were in good standing, so give it a try.

Me again.
If the above scenario isn't possible, and I sign up with a new user name where my post count starts from zero here, will I still get all the usual access to everything, as long as I PM you, Spamgirl?

librarian50
08-16-2011, 02:36 PM
Yes, you'll start at zero, keep posting to get over the post limit for full access. (It's not hard) Then you can PM SG to see if she'll transfer stats. How does that sound?

I PMd Spamgirl on the other forum (prior to seeing your message), hopefully she will see it soon. Will wait to see if she says that transferring old stats to a new username is even possible. :)
